Roy & Nancy Jones - Madrid, Spain
Association of Baptists for World Evangelism

Welcome to Our Website!

Roy & Nancy with Javier & Alvaro

Thank you for praying for the ministry in Spain. Most of our Spring activities have passed and we're now on furlough (see below). The annual Father's Day picnic in March is now history. For photos click here and then on "Father's Day Picnic-March 19, 2009". During the Easter season, the church held its third annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 5th. You can see photos of that by clicking here and then on Easter Egg Hunt-April, 2009. You can see photos of our Easter morning activities there as well. If you want to know more of what is going on, read our prayer updates by clicking here or on one of the prayer updates listed to the right ->

Our furlough schedule is starting to fill out. We're in the US from June 19 until October 25. We're on the East Coast until the end of August and then will travel to Ohio. If you would like to know where we're going to be during our travels, click here to go to our calendar. We're looking forward to visiting our churches on the East Coast and in the midwest. We will need to raise some support that is lacking before we'll be able to return. If you would like to see what our financial situation is, click here. We are confident that God will continue to meet our needs.

We hope this website will be an effective tool as you pray for us and for our ministry. You can learn more about our ministry and our family by clicking on any of the items at the top left. In the "Photo Gallery" you can see photos of the church and other ministry activities. Be sure to read our latest prayer updates here.  Thanks for your interest and especially for your prayers. If you would like to know more about the Christian Life and how to become a Christian, feel free to click here. There's no greater life than a life with Christ.

Map of Spain

Spain is located on the Iberian Pennisula with France to the North, Portugal to the West and Africa to the South. There are over 44 million people living here in a country about twice the size of Oregon. Only about 0,5% is considered to be Evangelical Christians. Spain is changing though. About 10% of the population are immigrants from Eastern and Central Europe as well as Central and South America. We live in Campo Real, about 20 minutes east of Madrid.

Group from the church

Thank you for praying with us as we continue the ministry in the church in Coslada. We know that God has His own plans and we are grateful to be a part of them. We are thankful for the good spirit among the believers. Kevin and Raul are deacons and Fran continues to prepare for future leadership. He has been accepted by the Madrid Police but plans to continue his studies once he finishes the Police Academy. Pedro is a great source of encouragement as he helps with the preaching and teaching. We are thankful for our co-workers, Glenn & Tammy Clodgo who are taking more responsibility for the work especially during our trip to the US.

Together at Christmas time

We are so thankful for our family. Each of our sons has established a Christian home and continues faithful to the Lord. What a blessing to have Kevin, Mari, Javier and now Álvaro nearby! Brian and Melody continue to live in New Jersey with their son, Owen. We are very proud of Brian. He passed his final year to become a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). Keith, Debby, Luca and Chiara, are settled near Milan, Italy where they are serving as missionaries. They are actively searching for a meeting place to begin a new work there. (You can find out more about our family by clicking on The Jones Family top left.)

Sunday School class

What a joy it is to have many children in the church services. There are several babies and toddlers and some olders kids as well. We have 2 Sunday School classes now for the kids. On some Sundays there have been as many as 11 kids.
